Sarah is currently the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, for the Vancouver Aquarium.
Sarah has over 15 years of marketing and communications management experience in the private and not-for-profit profit sectors including advertising agencies, tourism organizations and attractions. Her ability to identify opportunities and develop corporate strategies has been a consistent asset throughout her career. Her leadership skills are combined with the requisite interpersonal, communication and implementation capabilities that have resulted in a track record of being known for turning ideas into realities and results.
Sarah’s broad experience ranges from leading the branding strategy to position Vancouver as a preferred travel destination worldwide, to negotiating sponsorships with global corporate brands, promotional programs with the restaurant and cultural sectors, conservation communications, and leading a delegation at the Beijing Olympic Summer Games. She has also taught strategic marketing at the BCOMM and MBA levels.
She currently oversees all aspects of the Vancouver Aquarium’s marketing and communications activities including advertising, promotions, public relations, and reputation management to position the facility to key stakeholders as a leading education, research and conservation facility. Her role is to be the steward of the Aquarium’s brand and reputation, while contributing to the overall health of the organization by driving attendance and engagement through targeted marketing initiatives.
